About

Hello and welcome to Goodniss blog! My name is Amy and here you will find my journey to better health and living well through food and creativity. It’s been quite a journey . I have chosen to eat free of gluten, refined sugar and processed dairy when I can. I’ve learned that some times I can tolerate wheat and dairy and save these moments for when I am traveling and healthier options just are not available. This is what works for me on my journey.  I enjoy writing about topics that bring me joy like cooking, baking, fermenting, health, gardening, traveling, crafting and making other forms of art. I also enjoy writing about life in general.

Making art is my first passion and creating nourishing foods is my second. It is my goal to show you how to still eat well for your body without feeling deprived. It’s easy and it is fun! By substituting alternative ingredients in traditional recipes I have found that I am still able to enjoy my food. Living a long healthy life, free from disease, is my motivation. I also want to have a family one day and the healthier that I can become for myself will only greater benefit them.

I’ve been making art since childhood as was heavily influenced by my parents and their creative endeavors. I especially love color and the way color makes me feel. I use a lot of bright colors in my quilts and other sewing creations. I was an oil painter for many years and LOVED everything about it. While I still enjoy painting today, sewing has really taken over my creative studio. There is always a pattern to try, or a composition to explore. Shopping for fabric gives me the same rush as shopping in an art store. Endless ways to create.

I love learning and growing. Thank you for stopping in and reading. I hope I have inspired you on your journey to health, eating well, and encouraging your creativity.
